Darou Pakhsh Pharmaceutical Mfg Co. History

Darupakhsh Pharmaceutical Factories Company, as the largest and most experienced pharmaceutical company in the country, was established in 1956 under the name Darupakhsh Charity Company affiliated with the Social Services Organization and in cooperation with the English pharmaceutical company Allen & Hanburys-A&H, and its initial goal was to meet the pharmaceutical needs of 5 hospitals and 255 clinics nationwide. In 1961, five pharmacists were sent to England for industrial training to receive the necessary training for production and control at the A&H and Glaxo factories. This group came to Iran in 1962 with English specialists and began installing machinery, hiring and training personnel, and eventually producing medicine. The Darupakhsh factory was officially opened in the summer of 1963 on a land area of 191,650 square meters.

During these years, the company continued its activities by producing more than 300 types of drugs under the license of reputable American and European companies such as Schering and M.S.D. until it came under the direct supervision of the Ministry of Health in 1979. In 1992, the company's shares were purchased by the Social Security Organization from the Ministry of Health, and in 1998, the Darupakhsh Factory was separated from the Darupakhsh Company (public joint-stock company) and continued its activities under the name of Darupakhsh Factories Company (private joint-stock company). It should be noted that the Darupakhsh Factories Company was registered as a private joint-stock company in the Tehran Companies and Industrial Property Registration Office on 1/24/1998. It was converted into a public joint-stock company on 6/27/1990 and was admitted to the Tehran Stock Exchange on 8/17/1998.
